A full day: The beginning of the list

I've just spent the past half an hour dinking around with google earth and it is amazing. I'm now plotting paths of my journeys and saving the photos so you can all look at them. Cool eh? Well.. even cooler is that today, I did what I should have done long ago.. I went through my guide book and made a list of the sites that I still would like to see before I leave. The list ended up being roughly 30 long, with me crossing four of those off the list today. Pretty good if you ask me. Plus, I was probably out walking for about 5 hours.. so yeah. I started with the Tower of London, walked across Tower Bridge, passed the HMS Belfast, checked out the recreated Globe theater, and then went inside the Tate Modern art museum for a while.

I must say, thus far, the Tower of London was the most entertaining touristy activity available. The guides are really funny and I got to see the largest diamond in the world. I got a lot of good photos, but unfortunately they don't let you take any photos of the crown jewels or the giant diamonds. It was a good experience.

After that (which was like 2 hours later) I walked across Tower Bridge. It is a great view and I also got a lot of photos of that area. I'm a sucker for the scenic photo. I then got some lunch and walked towards the Globe Theater. I also passed the HMS Belfast, and I wanted to go in, but it cost money and it didn't look great. I just like looking at the ship itself. I wasn't too interested in the naval history aspect of the boat. I eventually entered the Tate Modern and checked out some weird art. I guess I just couldn't get into it all that well for some reason. I have a hard time appreciating art as it is, but then you throw in a lot of abstract stuff and it only gets more difficult to appreciate. Yet, I still enjoyed the experience. Finally, at the end, I walked across a bridge that leads from the Tate to the North side of the Thames. On that walk, there is a great view of St. Paul's Cathedral. I couldn't have asked for a better day trip.

Finally, I got back and went on my daily run. I finally figured out how far it is. 3.51 miles according to Google Earth. It kind of made me feel good. There was a time when I couldn't even run an entire mile. Here's the run that I do every day.

I really love stability in my life, and I actually think that I'm going to miss the Regents park run the most. Weird. I'll keep everyone updated. I have a new photo album up.. so check that out. I'll probably only have it up for a week because today I took enough photos to put another one up.

Congrats to Leif for making it to Oslo. He's a class act.
