There she is... that's the real deal. I kind of think that colour is ugly... sorry queen. So today was a pretty good day I'd have to say so myself, despite the fact that I'm kind of in a bad mood right now. But that's okay... I'm don't let that ruin my big picture. My internship was satisfying, I bought groceries, went on a run, and tomorrow is looking pretty fulfilling as well. I feel as if I might be past some the "prove yourself" stage of my job... even if that is what I'm doing everyday... which is fine... I am the intern after all...
After work, I went to CAPA (the facilitators of this trip) and picked up my stipend and chatted with someone about volunteering while I'm here. I think most would believe volunteering to be a stupid idea... but I can't just bum around London all the time... even though there is a limitless amount of things to do here... but I do want some fulfillment and structure, even on my days off. So this weekend I might go help clean up the river. I went to buy groceries, which is satisfying.. but I don't buy enough stuff to use a cart, but enough that the basket gets really really heavy towards the end of shopping. Then, I have to carry that stuff back to my flat for about 3/4 of a mile. I enjoy walking, but my arms and shoulders kill at the end of that walk.
My evening began once I returned, and the first thing I did was go on my daily run through Regents park. I don't know how far the trip actually is.. but I always end it with a run up Primrose hill which is only across the street from Regents. I'm planning on taking my digital camera with me and recording my run at some point.. so i can sort of see where I went every day and look back on it. For a final note, I reached the top of Regents hill this evening to find an ice sculpture of downtown London. It was so surprising and pleasant. I ran back down the Hill to my flat and grabbed my camera, then ran back up to find them packing it up. I got a few photos, but they're not on my computer yet. I'll get them up. It was really neat to see an ice sculpture. It was so very unexpected. After the run I had some rice (like every night) and drank some pepsi max (which is just diet pepsi here). I don't know why, but Pepsi is a budget soda here. Coke products are about 1.50 Pounds while pepsi is 75 pence. Okay.. this has been a long post, but that's okay. I'm just giving the people what they want...
